Finishes
The most common commercial finish is brushed chrome (US26D/626) because of its appealing appearance and durability, but the industry offers many other finishes. To see a complete list, please click on finishes.

Roton – Geared Continuous Hinge
Today, geared continuous hinges are being used more often in high traffic applications such as schools and assembly buildings. These hinges are also very convenient in retrofit applications, since continuous hinges can be used with any existing hinge spacing. The geared continuous hinges will prevent one of the most common problems with standard hinges; i.e. top hinge sag. Over time with a standard hinge in a high cycle application, the top of the door will start to sag away from the frame and create problems with the door. The Roton hinge provides consistent support through the entire door.

Roton continuous hinges are available in several mounting configurations. Please click mounting options to see which is practical for your situation.

Locks
Locks are an essential part of any construction project. Locks provide security and access control to your facility. Because of the need for security combined with the code requirements for life safety, access control and security requirements are becoming more complex every day. Our consultants can provide you with experience and expertise so that you can determine the right balance of security, ease of operation, and life safety. Also, we can make sure your locks are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We have listed a sample of the products available in today’s market. To find out more detail or to discuss your specific situation, please contact us.

Lock Types
Mortise Grade 1
Cylindrical Grade 1 or Grade 2
Tubular Light Grade 2 or Grade 3

Interchangeable Cores (I.C.)
I.C. cores allow you to remove and replace your lock cylinder with just the insertion of a key. A core is the part of the locks that determines which key will operate the lock. A special key allows this core to be replaced in seconds. These cores can be invaluable in large key systems or businesses with high turnover rates.

Lever vs. Knob
Levers are required to meet the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). While knobs are still allowed at certain locations, levers are taking over the market.

High Security and Key Control
Security cylinders can provide you with pick resistance and key control. These cylinders incorporate a locking mechanism in addition to the standard pins. This secondary locking mechanism makes the lock almost impossible to pick. Drill resistance can be provided also.

Key control is a big problem in many facilities. With conventional keys, it can be very easy for someone to go down to the hardware store and make copies of your keys without your authorization. Patented keys are now available that cannot be duplicated without authorization. The manufacturer does not issue key blanks to locksmiths for these keys and no other company is allowed to make these keys. The only way to obtain a copy is to send a signed letter of authorization to the lock manufacturer. This will allow you piece of mind that only the keys you authorize will be in circulation.

Intruder Function
This is a new lock function that is available in many locks today. The need for this lock was created by the Columbine tragedy. Most classroom function locks require you to be outside of the door to lock it. The intruder function allows you to lock the door with a key from the outside or the inside of the lock. This door can only be locked and unlocked with a key, so that students cannot just push a button to lock their teacher or administrator out of the room.

We can provide locks from all of the leading lock manufacturers. Please take a look at the chart below to see a summary of the products that they offer. Please click on the links to find more information about each product.
